Do you have to hit your child sometimes?
"Parents believe that beatings and humiliation are the only way we can punish and raise children, but this may cause psychological problems and aggressive behavior in the child, and he may get used to beatings and thus become more rebellious and stubborn.
Strike it and do not hit it? Is the question that always puzzles the parents. In this context, Dr. Mohamed Hani, consultant psychiatrist and family relations, said that there are many methods of punishment and raising children instead of beatings and humiliation, including emotional deprivation.
"It is possible to deprive the child of anything he loves and cares about, to get used to the importance of things and to stay away from the wrong behaviors," he said. "I can also talk to the child quietly and convince him or use the method of choosing between things because he feels important and does not force him to do anything.
"In one case, it is possible to use the method of beating when the child is going to aggressive and defiant behavior such as theft or inappropriate words and other misconduct, but that the beating is light and non-aggression so as not to affect the child psychologically and physically."
